Do you
have marionettes in stock and ready to ship?
We make
our marionettes to order and seldom have any in
stock, but it does happen from time to
time. If this is the case when you place
your order, we will send you an email to let you
know.
What about shipping charges?
We do not
charge for shipping until your order is ready, at
which time we will send you an email invoice for
actual shipping charges.
Costs
naturally vary depending on marionette and
destination. The charge for shipping
is $30-$60 for small marionettes and $50-$90 for
large marionettes plus $8.00 for insurance.
Are shipments insured?
Yes, all
orders are insured. The cost for this insurance
is $8.00 per marionette.
How long will it take for my order to arrive?
It
depends on your distance from Venice,
Italy:
2-4 days |
Within the
European Community |
5-10
days |
North
America |
7-15 days |
Other
destinations |
Will I get my order in time for
Christmas?
The
Christmas season is a busy time for us, so we
advise you to place your order by 1 November and
we will ship your order no later than 1
December. If you find yourself up against a
deadline, just send us an email and ask and we'll
do what we can to help out.
How tall
are your marionettes?
The
height varies depending on the hat and or
headdress of the particular marionette, but the
average height is about 20" (50cm) for our
small marionettes and about 28" (72cm) for
our large marionettes.
How much
does a marionette weigh?
Small
marionettes weigh between 2-3 lbs and large
marionettes weigh between 2.5-4 lbs.
Packing and shipping material nearly doubles the
weight.
What are
your marionettes made of?
The
bodies are made of wood; the head, hands and feet
are made of a wood pulp mixture.
Are your
marionettes one of a kind?
Yes.
Like family members, there will be striking
resemblances but no identical twins.
Because we make them one at a time, the painting
of the feet, head, and hands will vary as will
the material used in making the costumes.
You can be sure of having a marionette that is
uniquely yours.
How long
will it take to make my marionette?
A good
estimate is 3-4 weeks. We ask that you keep
in mind, however, that you are ordering from a
Venetian artisan and not a production shop or
factory. We will provide a more accurate
estimate in your order confirmation email.
